IBS' Virtual Enterprise ties together Scribona's Nordic operations IBS has received an order from Scribona for Virtual Enterprise, IBS' new software for group coordination. Virtual Enterprise is a tool that enables the integration of the Scribona Group's Nordic operations and coordination of the order fulfilment, purchasing and logistics processes. Scribona recently strengthened its leading position as Nordic distributor of IT equipment through the acquisition of the Norwegian PC Lan group, with an annual revenue of SEK 6 billion and operations in Sweden, Norway and Denmark. Scribona, whose annual revenue amounts to approximately SEK 16 billion after the acquisition, already uses IBS' ASW software for distribution and financials. The total order value is approximately SEK 50 million. Virtual Enterprise opens up possibilities for the integration of IT systems and processes, where IBS' ERP system is an important corner stone. IBS will also take over the running and maintenance of parts of Scribona's IT support. In Scribona's new distribution centre in Århus, IBS' software will replace the current ERP system. "This is an effective way for us to integrate our operations and make them more efficient, as well as tying together different suppliers and customers in the supply chain," says Tom Ekevall Larsen, CEO of Scribona Distribution. "With IBS' new versions of both ASW and Virtual Enterprise, we can further reduce costs and increase customer service." In addition, IBS will take over Scribona's servers, which will be run from IBS' operations centre in Linköping. IBS has already taken over certain staff members from Scribona to operate and maintain the system, and to provide user support. "As a distributor of IT equipment, Scribona is acting in a very competitive industry, with high transaction volumes. This is a good example of how IBS' software and services help our customers to benefit from synergies between subsidiaries and to make their operations more efficient," says Staffan Ahlberg, CEO of the IBS Group.
