Launches Bookmaster Release 8 to Address Publishing Industry’s Most Pressing Needs

LAS VEGAS, Nev., March 8, 2012 – International Business Systems (IBS), a top global distribution company, today announced the launch of Bookmaster Release 8 during its annual customer event at the Bellagio for leaders in the publishing industry.

Bookmaster Release 8 features Contracts, Rights & Royalty Management allowing publishing companies to manage the complexities of partnerships between publishers, intellectual property owners, consumers and upstream supply chain partners for handling royalties, subsidiary rights and the associated financial arrangements. The product features the easy to use Rights Master module, which enables author contract management, sub rights contract management and fully automated transaction. Other features include advanced online web sales capabilities; automated commercial control of both online retailer and consumer sales; systemic control of e-Book distribution and print on demand distribution; and control of online subscriptions.

“The publishing industry must reinvent itself to operate in an online world by addressing the new supply and distribution model paradigm, answering to the challenge of rights and permissions and determining a new approach to business intelligence,” said Ludo Hertroijs, vice president of Bookmaster. “Bookmaster Release 8 was designed to address the issues keeping the publishing industry up at night, but provides a path for companies to adjust to the longer-term implications of this new reality to thrive in the future.”

Global Bookmaster customers including Zyla De Bruyn from On the Dot; Tom Woll of Cross River Consulting and Andrew Weinstein, previously with Lightning Source and Ingrams, and now with AW Media, are addressing the industry’s most pressing issues like intellectual property management, how not to be marginalized by Apple or Amazon, digital delivery, rights and permissions, royalties, online distribution, sales and channel management and partnerships.

This is the second time IBS Bookmaster has hosted this customer event, which is aimed to bring the customer community together to share information about emerging themes, success stories and dialogue about the publishing industry. With an extensive educational program and an iconic venue, this free event will address trends, best practices and provide an opportunity for customers to drive their business by using Bookmaster software.
