IBS has signed an agreement with the MBD Group, owner of the Meca car parts chain, for the delivery of a new business system that will improve the efficiency of the customer's supply chain processes. The order is valued at SEK 12.8 million and covers software, services and hardware.

The MBD Group works with imports and sales of car parts and accessories to retailers throughout Scandinavia. The Group has a chain of approximately 50 professional car parts shops that sell spare parts and accessories to workshops and motorists in Sweden and Denmark. The Swedish retail chain operates under the name Meca and has around 500,000 items in its range. The Group has some 600 employees and an annual revenue of SEK 1.2 billion.

MBD/Meca is growing at a rate of more than 50 per cent per year. This places great demands on the stability and flexibility of the business system, as well as its ability to handle large volumes of data. The new business system will make it possible to integrate, automate and improve the efficiency of the MBD Group's logistic processes. Moreover, the solution’s scalability will facilitate rapid volume growth without the need for major investments in terms of resources and extra staff.

"The selection of IBS as the supplier of our new business system was determined, above all, by IBS' know-how and the functionality of its systems for trading, supply chain management and logistics," says Rickard Grann, CEO of the MBD Group.

"The automotive aftermarket is one of the sectors that IBS is focusing on. By offering a combination of industry expertise and specialisation in the field of supply chain management we are able to supply solutions that provide a rapid return on the investments made," says Magnus Wastenson, CEO of IBS.
