Stockholm, 25 October, 1999 IBS gets top ranking in American IT survey The leading US research institute AMR Research, ranks IBS as one of the top three players within Supply Chain Management, in a global survey of software suppliers. The survey is based on revenue in this area during 1998. In the narrower category, Supply Chain Execution Software, IBS is ranked no. 1 in the world. AMR Research predicts an average yearly market growth of some 48% for Supply Chain Management software, for the period 1999-2002. The IT-guided logistics governing distribution have revolutionised the way companies are doing business with each other. Reliability and responsibility are now shared in a new and different way, between customer and supplier. The opportunities opened up by e-business and Internet integration are propelling this development. IBS is one of the world's largest suppliers of business systems, on a list topped by German SAP. Among the ten largest suppliers, only IBS has its roots in solutions for distributing companies. The majority of other software suppliers have a bakground in manufacturing software. IBS' focus on distribution puts the company in third place on a global basis, in the category Supply Chain Management Software. The leading companies in this category have spear head competence within planning and execution. In the field of Supply Chain Execution, AMR Research's report shows IBS to be the world leader. IBM tests have shown that IBS software can handle exceptionally large transaction volumes. This is crucial in achieving reliability and stability throughout the supply chain. - The survey proves that a Swedish IT company choosing to specialise can, without any doubt, take a world leading position, says Staffan Ahlberg, CEO of the IBS Group.
