IBS launches new business software at major international event More than five hundred participants from all over the world gathered in Stockholm on Tuesday for IBS' launch event. Guests from subsidiaries and invited customer companies experienced how IBS' new software handles a broad spectrum of business models and supply chain concepts. Especially appreciated was ASW Virtual Enterprise, with its integrated solutions for the digital supply chain of the future. Launch activities will be going on all week and include a number of seminars and training courses. Customers and business partners from the US, France, Italy, Belgium, the UK and Colombia among others, and IBSers from 20 countries were introduced to all the new functionality. Part of the development process is carried out in very close co-operation with IBS customers. This is why IBS is a leader in meeting market demands for user-friendly solutions in fields, such as intuitive navigation and new user dialogue. IBS also has new market-leading solutions for integrating robust business systems with the latest in mobile technology, such as communication with Palm Pilots and WAP. Another new feature is ASW Alert Management, an early-warning system for handling exceptions in set models and transaction flows. Efficiency gains are enormous when decision-makers only have to follow-up on exceptions, without having to handle overwhelming information volumes about processes that are actually functioning normally and according to plan. - The new software release is yet another element of our strategic and profitable focus on chosen market segments, says Staffan Ahlberg, CEO of the IBS Group. Our collaborative Virtual Enterprise solution is the first on the market to offer full integration between the new generation of Java-based software, and stable, well-proven technology for mission- critical systems. It can, of course, be used together with IBS' present range of software, but also with other suppliers' ERP systems. This is unique and much appreciated by those customers who have already had the opportunity to explore IBS' new software offering. Other new features that meet the latest in market development include process and work flows aimed at further improving efficiency in customer operations, a new graphical distribution and manufacturing tool called Planner View, and a number of functions targeting quotes, procurement and sales order handling.
