Preliminary quarterly result from IBS In view of the current uncertain general business climate, IBS announces preliminary results for the third quarter 2001 (SEK million): Q3 Q3 2001 2000 Software licences 96 80 +19% Professional services 315 269 +17% Hardware and other 156 101 +55% income Total revenue 567 450 +26% Costs -609 -502 +21% Pre-tax profit -42 -52 +18% (Following the closing of the accounts for the third quarter, these preliminary figures may be subject to change.) As a consequence of the uncertain global situation, several licence contract negotiations have been delayed. Also, we have not been able to invoice certain booked professional services. This has resulted in lower Q3 revenue than forecast. Amongst the costs, we have had to reserve SEK 12m, mainly due to the suspension of payments of a large French household appliances group. Despite these adverse factors, the pre-tax profit for the third quarter improved by 18%. For the fourth quarter 2000, IBS showed a pre-tax profit of SEK 50m. If the general business climate does not deteriorate dramatically, we anticipate that the results for the same period 2001 will continue to improve. The official quarterly report will be published on 17 October, 2001.
