– Industry-specific solution decisive for timber

Rörvik Timber chooses IBS as its system supplier. The contract means that Rörvik will implement IBS Enterprise, including the industry-specific Wood and Timber modules. For IBS, the partnership with Rörvik will advance the company’s position in the timber industry, where several companies are preparing to replace older systems. “Many companies in the timber industry are now reviewing their business processes and support systems to be better able to meet market requirements,” says Kent Mattsson, business area manager at IBS Sweden. “The contract with Rörvik is important, since it advances our positions in a vertical segment in which IBS is not only established in Sweden, but several other international markets.” Rörvik Timber refines timber in Southern Sweden. During 2005, sales amounted to SEK 2 billion, with exports accounting for about 60 percent. Operations include production and refinement of timber for industrial customer and building supply outlets, pressure impregnation and refinement of wood products and consumer products for interior environments under the Jabo brand. The contract with Rörvik includes software products and consulting services. Implementation will begin immediately. The first system unit is scheduled to be taken into operation by year end 2006/2007. Thereafter, an additional six units will be implemented. IBS industry solutions with specific functionality based on industry experience support the entire market segment, regardless if customers are active in sawmill operations, timber production, refinement or sales of wood products. The agreement was reported in IBS´ interim report for Q1 2006.
