ICA launches quarterly sustainability report

ICA AB will from now on be reporting quarterly on how work on sustainability is progressing in the Group. Through this initiative, ICA also wants to challenge other companies to follow suit.

From now on, every quarter ICA will report on how work on sustainability is progressing and deal with the most important issues in the priority areas of the environment, health, ethical trade and community engagement.

“As a major player in this industry, we have a responsibility to encourage and challenge not just ourselves, but the whole of our industry. We are of course particularly proud to be one of the first with externally audited quarterly reports on sustainability. We aim to become more transparent by reporting more frequently and in a structured way. We hope that this will inspire more companies to follow our example. This feels just as natural as our financial quarterly reporting,” says Per Strömberg, CEO of ICA AB.

It is ICA’s ambition to continuously develop its work on sustainability. This was the origin of ICA’s idea to have externally audited quarterly reports on sustainability.

“By doing this, we’re also making it easier for stakeholders in society to be able to monitor our work on sustainability. Transparency does, of course, require that we dare to report our deficiencies. In our quarterly reporting, we will therefore also include criticism we have received and tell you about areas in which we still have work to do,” says Kerstin Lindvall, Sustainability Manager at ICA.

The sustainability report for the second quarter is attached to this press release.
