ICA opens purchasing office in Hong Kong

ICA has been buying goods produced in Asia for many years. ICA is opening an office in China to provide even more support for their quality initiatives.
"We are very pleased to open an office in Asia. Not only does it make purchasing easier, it will ensure the quality of our products. It will be easier for us to make sure that suppliers are meeting our requirements for social and workplace responsibility, among other things," says Kenneth Bengtsson, President and CEO, ICA AB.
There are three offices planned, the first one to be opened is the head office in Hong Kong.
"Through our offices in Asia, ICA will be able to monitor purchasing, order follow- ups and product quality, as well as to plan and track product shipments. Not least, it will be easier to visit factories and make sure that the producers are meeting their social responsibilities," says Kenneth Bengtsson.
The official opening takes place today, April 2, at the head office in Hong Kong.
