Preliminary figures put April 2008 combined sales for ICA retailers in Sweden at SEK 6,861 million, excluding VAT, up SEK 186 million or 2.8 percent compared to the same month last year. The increase for comparable units was 1.6 percent.
Since the beginning of the year, sales excluding VAT have risen by 7.3 percent to SEK 27,009 million. For comparable units, the increase for the same period was 6.2 percent.
Breakdown of April sales for ICA stores in Sweden:
Maxi ICA Stormarknad stores reported an increase in sales of 6.6 percent to SEK 1,729 million. The increase for comparable units was 0.6 percent. Accumulated sales have increased by 13.0 percent to SEK 6,737 million, whilst comparable units have increased by 6.8 percent.
ICA Kvantum stores reported a decrease in sales of 0.6 percent to SEK 1,715 million. The decrease for comparable units was 0.3 percent. Accumulated sales have increased by 5.4 percent to SEK 6,842 million, whilst comparable units have increased by 5.8 percent.
ICA Supermarket stores reported an increase in sales of 2.4 percent to SEK 2,341 million. The increase for comparable units was 3.4 percent. Accumulated sales have increased by 5.1 percent to SEK 9,202 million, whilst comparable units have increased by 6.3 percent.
ICA Nära stores reported an increase in sales of 3.2 percent to SEK 1,077 million. The increase for comparable units was 2.6 percent. Accumulated sales have increased by 6.8 percent to SEK 4,228 million, whilst comparable units have increased by 6.0 percent.
