Preliminary figures put August 2006 combined sales for ICA retailers in Sweden at SEK 7,592 million, including VAT, up SEK 599 million or 8.6 percent compared to the same month last year. The increase for comparable units was 6.9 percent.
Since the beginning of the year, sales including VAT have risen by 7.4 percent to SEK 57,234 million. For comparable units, the increase for the same period was 5.8 percent.
Breakdown of August sales for ICA stores in Sweden:
Maxi ICA Stormarknad stores reported an increase in sales of 16.2 percent to SEK 1,674 million. The increase for comparable units was 8.2 percent. Accumulated sales have increased by 15.1 percent to SEK 12,568 million, whilst comparable units have increased by 6.4 percent.
ICA Kvantum stores reported an increase in sales of 9.2 percent to SEK 2,013 million. The increase for comparable units was 7.7 percent. Accumulated sales have increased by 8.2 percent to SEK 15,333 million, whilst comparable units have increased by 6.6 percent.
ICA Supermarket stores reported an increase in sales of 5.6 percent to SEK 2,689 million. The increase for comparable units was 6.2 percent. Accumulated sales have increased by 4.2 percent to SEK 20,328 million, whilst comparable units have increased by 5.0 percent.
ICA Nära stores reported an increase in sales of 4.7 percent to SEK 1,216 million. The increase for comparable units was 5.7 percent. Accumulated sales have increased by 3.7 percent to SEK 9,005 million, whilst comparable units have increased by 5.2 percent.
