ICA store sales during December 2009

Preliminary figures put December 2009 combined sales for ICA retailers in Sweden at SEK 8,769 million, excluding VAT, up SEK 341 million or 4.0 percent compared to the same month the year before. The increase for comparable units was 2.9 percent.

Since the beginning of the year, sales excluding VAT have risen by 4.9 percent to SEK 90,671 million. For comparable units, the increase for the same period was 4.1 percent.

Breakdown of December sales for ICA stores in Sweden:

Maxi ICA Stormarknad stores reported an increase in sales of 5.5 percent to SEK 2,681 million. The increase for comparable units was 2.3 percent. Accumulated sales have increased by 9.4 percent to SEK 25,025 million, whilst comparable units have increased by 6.2 percent.

ICA Kvantum stores reported an increase in sales of 3.3 percent to SEK 2,155 million. The increase for comparable units was 1.9 percent. Accumulated sales have increased by 3.4 percent to SEK 21,904 million, whilst comparable units have increased by 3.0 percent.

ICA Supermarket stores reported an increase in sales of 3.8 percent to SEK 2,704 million. The increase for comparable units was 4.0 percent. Accumulated sales have increased by 3.5 percent to SEK 29,588 million, whilst comparable units have increased by 3.7 percent.

ICA Nära stores reported an increase in sales of 2.6 percent to SEK 1,229 million. The increase for comparable units was 3.2 percent. Accumulated sales have increased by 2.7 percent to SEK 14,155 million, whilst comparable units have increased by 3.3 percent.
