ICA store sales during February 2009

Preliminary figures put February 2009 combined sales for ICA retailers in Sweden at SEK 6,620 million, excluding VAT, up SEK 110 million or 1.7 percent compared to the same month last year. The increase for comparable units was 0.7 percent.

Since the beginning of the year, sales excluding VAT have risen by 5.8 percent to SEK 13,766 million. For comparable units, the increase for the same period was 4.8 percent.

Breakdown of February sales for ICA stores in Sweden:

Maxi ICA Stormarknad stores reported an increase in sales of 9.3 percent to SEK 1,754 million. The increase for comparable units was 4.1 percent. Accumulated sales have increased by 14.2 percent to SEK 3,688 million, whilst comparable units have increased by 8.8 percent.

ICA Kvantum stores reported a decrease in sales of 1.8 percent to SEK 1,626 million. The decrease for comparable units was 1.3 percent. Accumulated sales have increased by 2.7 percent to SEK 3,398 million, whilst comparable units have increased by 3.2 percent.

ICA Supermarket stores reported unchanged sales of SEK 2,214 million. The increase for comparable units was 0.2 percent. Accumulated sales have increased by 3.6 percent to SEK 4,574 million, whilst comparable units have increased by 3.8 percent.

ICA Nära stores reported a decrease in sales of 1.0 percent to SEK 1,027 million. The decrease for comparable units was 0.4 percent. Accumulated sales have increased by 2.5 percent to SEK 2,107 million, whilst comparable units have increased by 3.1 percent.
