ICA store sales during January 2007

From the 1st of January ICA will present the ICA store sales in Sweden excluding VAT instead of including VAT as previously reported.

Preliminary figures put January 2007 combined sales for ICA retailers in Sweden at SEK 6 078 million, excluding VAT, up SEK 310 million or 5.4 percent compared to the same month last year. The increase for comparable units was 4.0 percent.

Breakdown of January sales for ICA stores in Sweden:

Maxi ICA Stormarknad stores reported an increase in sales of 10.4 percent to SEK 1 380 million. The increase for comparable units was 2.8 percent.

ICA Kvantum stores reported an increase in sales of 3.5 percent to SEK 1,618 million. The increase for comparable units was 3.6 percent.

ICA Supermarket stores reported an increase in sales of 4.4 percent to SEK 2,152 million. The increase for comparable units was 4.9 percent.

ICA Nära stores reported an increase in sales of 3.8 percent to SEK 928 million. The increase for comparable units was 4.3 percent.
