ICA store sales during July 2008

Preliminary figures put July combined sales for ICA retailers in Sweden at SEK 7,792 million, excluding VAT, up SEK 700 million or 9.9 percent compared to the same month last year. The increase for comparable units was 8.1 percent.

Since the beginning of the year, sales excluding VAT have risen by 7.9 percent to SEK 49,690 million. For comparable units, the increase for the same period was 6.6 percent.

Breakdown of July sales for ICA stores in Sweden:

Maxi ICA Stormarknad stores reported an increase in sales of 18.1 percent to SEK 1,935 million. The increase for comparable units was 6.8 percent. Accumulated sales have increased by 14.8 percent to SEK 12,561 million, whilst comparable units have increased by 6.8 percent.

ICA Kvantum stores reported an increase in sales of 4.8 percent to SEK 1,838 million. The increase for comparable units was 6.6 percent. Accumulated sales have increased by 4.9 percent to SEK 12,325 million, whilst comparable units have increased by 5.7 percent.

ICA Supermarket stores reported an increase in sales of 7.7 percent to SEK 2,645 million. The increase for comparable units was 8.1 percent. Accumulated sales have increased by 5.7 percent to SEK 16,847 million, whilst comparable units have increased by 6.6 percent.

ICA Nära stores reported an increase in sales of 10.6 percent to SEK 1,374 million. The increase for comparable units was 11.7 percent. Accumulated sales have increased by 7.6 percent to SEK 7,957 million, whilst comparable units have increased by 7.4 percent.
