ICA store sales during March 2007

Preliminary figures put March 2007 combined sales for ICA retailers in Sweden at SEK 6,613 million, excluding VAT, up SEK 410 million or 6.6 percent compared to the same month last year. The increase for comparable units was 5.1 percent.

Since the beginning of the year, sales excluding VAT have risen by 5.8 percent to SEK 18,494 million. For comparable units, the increase for the same period was 4.5 percent.

Breakdown of March sales for ICA stores in Sweden:

Maxi ICA Stormarknad stores reported an increase in sales of 12.4 percent to SEK 1,495million. The increase for comparable units was 3.5 percent. Accumulated sales have increased by 10.8 percent to SEK 4,152 million, whilst comparable units have increased by 2.7 percent.

ICA Kvantum stores reported an increase in sales of 4.3 percent to SEK 1,762 million. The increase for comparable units was 4.4 percent. Accumulated sales have increased by 4.0 percent to SEK 4,930 million, whilst comparable units have increased by 4.1 percent.

ICA Supermarket stores reported an increase in sales of 5.1 percent to SEK 2,311 million. The increase for comparable units was 6.0 percent. Accumulated sales have increased by 4.6 percent to SEK 6,507 million, whilst comparable units have increased by 5.4 percent.

ICA Nära stores reported an increase in sales of 6.1 percent to SEK 1,044 million. The increase for comparable units was 6.6 percent. Accumulated sales have increased by 4.8 percent to SEK 2,904 million, whilst comparable units have increased by 5.3 percent.
