Preliminary figures put March 2008 combined sales for ICA retailers in Sweden at SEK 7,142 million, excluding VAT, up SEK 530 million or 8.0 percent compared to the same month last year. The increase for comparable units was 7.0 percent.
Since the beginning of the year, sales excluding VAT have risen by 8.9 percent to SEK 20,148 million. For comparable units, the increase for the same period was 7.9 percent.
Breakdown of March sales for ICA stores in Sweden:
Maxi ICA Stormarknad stores reported an increase in sales of 15.6 percent to SEK 1,804 million. The increase for comparable units was 9.6 percent. Accumulated sales have increased by 15.4 percent to SEK 5,008 million, whilst comparable units have increased by 9.1 percent.
ICA Kvantum stores reported an increase in sales of 6.5 percent to SEK 1,815 million. The increase for comparable units was 6.9 percent. Accumulated sales have increased by 7.6 percent to SEK 5,127 million, whilst comparable units have increased by 8.0 percent.
ICA Supermarket stores reported an increase in sales of 4.9 percent to SEK 2,413 million. The increase for comparable units was 6.1 percent. Accumulated sales have increased by 6.0 percent to SEK 6,868 million, whilst comparable units have increased by 7.3 percent.
ICA Nära stores reported an increase in sales of 6.0 percent to SEK 1,110 million. The increase for comparable units was 5.3 percent. Accumulated sales have increased by 8.0 percent to SEK 3,144 million, whilst comparable units have increased by 7.3 percent.
