ICA store sales during May 2006

Preliminary figures put May 2006 combined sales for ICA retailers in Sweden at SEK 7,190 million, including VAT, up SEK 497 million or 7.4 percent compared to the same month last year. The increase for comparable units was 5.6 percent.

Since the beginning of the year, sales including VAT have risen by 6.4 percent to SEK 34,076 million. For comparable units, the increase for the same period was 4.6 percent.

Breakdown of May sales for ICA stores in Sweden:

Maxi ICA Stormarknad stores reported an increase in sales of 16.5 percent to SEK 1,621 million. The increase for comparable units was 6.8 percent. Accumulated sales have increased by 14.5 percent to SEK 7,518 million, whilst comparable units have increased by 4.9 percent.

ICA Kvantum stores reported an increase in sales of 7.7 percent to SEK 1,926 million. The increase for comparable units was 6.3 percent. Accumulated sales have increased by 7.4 percent to SEK 9,224 million, whilst comparable units have increased by 5.8 percent.

ICA Supermarket stores reported an increase in sales of 3.7 percent to SEK 2,543 million. The increase for comparable units was 4.4 percent. Accumulated sales have increased by 2.9 percent to SEK 12,122 million, whilst comparable units have increased by 3.9 percent.

ICA Nära stores reported an increase in sales of 3.7 percent to SEK 1,100 million. The increase for comparable units was 5.3 percent. Accumulated sales have increased by 2.2 percent to SEK 5,212 million, whilst comparable units have increased by 3.8 percent.
