ICA store sales during September 2008

Preliminary figures put September combined sales for ICA retailers in Sweden at SEK 6,704 million, excluding VAT, up SEK 339 million or 5.3 percent compared to the same month last year. The increase for comparable units was 3.8 percent.

Since the beginning of the year, sales excluding VAT have risen by 7.3 percent to SEK 63,906 million. For comparable units, the increase for the same period was 5.8 percent.

Breakdown of September sales for ICA stores in Sweden:

Maxi ICA Stormarknad stores reported an increase in sales of 10.3 percent to SEK 1,736 million. The increase for comparable units was 2.5 percent. Accumulated sales have increased by 14.0 percent to SEK 16,355 million, whilst comparable units have increased by 6.0 percent.

ICA Kvantum stores reported an increase in sales of 1.8 percent to SEK 1,635 million. The increase for comparable units was 2.2 percent. Accumulated sales have increased by 4.2 percent to SEK 15,700 million, whilst comparable units have increased by 5.0 percent.

ICA Supermarket stores reported an increase in sales of 4.3 percent to SEK 2,272 million. The increase for comparable units was 4.8 percent. Accumulated sales have increased by 5.1 percent to SEK 21,632 million, whilst comparable units have increased by 5.9 percent.

ICA Nära stores reported an increase in sales of 5.4 percent to SEK 1,061 million. The increase for comparable units was 5.8 percent. Accumulated sales have increased by 6.6 percent to SEK 10,218 million, whilst comparable units have increased by 6.6 percent.
