ICDC College Approved by the Department of Veteran Affairs as a 2010-2011 Yellow Ribbon Program Participant.
LOS ANGELES, May 5, 2010 – ICDC College has been approved as a Yellow Ribbon GI Education Enhancement Program (Yellow Ribbon Program) participant for the award year of 2010-2011 (beginning August 1, 2010) by the Department of Veterans Affairs. The Yellow Ribbon program is a provision of the Post 9/11 Veterans Educational Assistance Act of 2008 (Post 9/11 GI Bill) – providing the most comprehensive educational benefits available to those individuals who served on active duty on or after September 11, 2001. As a voluntary participant in the Yellow Ribbon program, attending eligible veterans at ICDC College will now have additional tuition assistance to help finance their education through ICDC College’s partnership with the Veterans Administration. David Hall, ICDC College’s Regional Director and Veteran Liaison states, “ICDC College continues to be fully committed to furthering the educational opportunities of veterans, military professionals and their families. Eligible attending veterans will now have additional funds available to reduce their overall tuition costs by the direct financial contribution of ICDC College.” ICDC College has seen a 170% surge in military enrollments from first quarter 2010. Lisa McGloiry, J.D., ICDC College’s Director of Media Relations and Community Outreach attributes the increase due to the uniqueness of ICDC College’s Alcohol and Drug Counseling and Homeland Security academic programs offered both on campus and online, of particular interest to military professionals, and because ICDC College has increased their community outreach efforts to veterans as a whole. Ms. McGloiry states, “ICDC College is not just a provider of quality education for our students. We are committed to ensuring that veterans and military personnel experience outstanding service at every level during their enrollment with us. That is why it is of particular importance that we partner with other area organizations who serve the military community at large.” About ICDC College - ICDC College offers 20 diploma/certificates including Alcohol and Drug Counseling, Homeland Security and Investigation, Medical Assistant, Pharmacy Technician, Computerized Accounting, Medical Office Management, Physical Therapy Aide, Dental Technician, Graphic/Web Development, Massage Therapy, Networking Technology and Paralegal.
