LOS ANGELES, CA – ICDC College was honored as a 2011 Military Friendly School and ranks among the top 15% of all colleges, universities and trade schools which are doing the most to embrace America’s veterans as students, as reported by G.I. Jobs which released its 2011 Military Friendly School List. As a 2011 Military Friendly School, ICDC College is featured in the 2011 Guide to Military Friendly Schools.

ICDC College satisfied G.I. Jobs exhaustive criteria that included factors such as academic accreditation, the success of outreach to veterans, programs, and efforts to retain military and veteran students and additional benefits that reflect veteran programs, credit for service, military spouses and more.

In G.I. Jobs’ official press release, Rich McCormack, publisher, stated: “This list is especially important now because the Post 9/11 GI Bill has given veterans the potential financial means to go to school … Veterans need a trusted friend to help them decide where to get education. The Military Friendly Schools list is that trusted friend.”

ICDC College is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC). ACCSC is recognized as a private non-profit independent accrediting agency by the U.S. Department of Education. ACCSC recognized ICDC College’s Los Angeles and Huntington Park campus as a 2009-2010 “School of Distinction” which places the college in the rare category of schools who have received such an honor for all four campuses.

As a Military Friendly School, ICDC College distinguishes itself from other institutions by their unprecedented level of commitment to providing veterans and military service men and women with a unique blend of quality education, training, job placement and dedicated veteran support throughout a student’s enrollment.

This is recognized in ICDC College’s Department of Veteran and Military Affairs which acts as the central focal point in assisting military service members, veterans, reservists and their families with the admissions process, student services, job placement and help with understanding special military benefits (Please visit www.icdccollege.edu/military). In addition, ICDC College is proud to partner with the Department of Veteran Affairs to offer the Yellow Ribbon program and fund part of the higher tuition expenses for eligible veterans in the form of a scholarship. ICDC College has also partnered with the Department of Defense to offer eligible military spouses tuition assistance benefits under the Military Spouse Career Advancement Accounts or more commonly known as MyCAA.

ICDC College’s Veteran Representative, Sedric Collins, who served in the U.S. Military, also believes that ICDC College’s success stems from the school’s recognition that veterans need to be of service to other veterans. Mr. Collins stated, “As a veteran, I understand the unique challenges facing veterans, those presently serving, and service men and women transitioning out of the military. Going back to school can be extremely daunting for students who must consider a number of factors including how to apply for and understand military benefits, whether to attend class on campus or online, and what career choice would best fit the prior military educational experience that they have already attained.” Mr. Collins added, “At ICDC College, veterans and military students can rely on vet-to-vet personal help and attention which can make a huge difference in considering how to best transition into a new career.”
