LIVERPOOL lawyers are being urged to take part in the very first Liverpool Legal Walk around the city on Thursday October 4th.

The 5km charity walk is being organised by Chris Walker of Scott Rees & Co Solicitors on behalf of the North West Legal Support Trust with a route that features many of the city’s legal landmarks.

Solicitors, barristers, legal executives, members of the judiciary, court staff as well as legal support staff and law students are being urged to put their best foot forward for the fund-raising stroll which will take place straight after work on Thursday October 4th.

The North West Legal Support Trust is a charity which raises money to distribute to legal advice agencies throughout the North West. The Trust is supported by the Access to Justice foundation and along with six other regional trusts, raises funds that enables it to make grants to legal advice charities that offer free advice to those most in need.

Dinah Crystal, Chair of the North West Legal Trust, said: “The legal profession has a fine record of corporate social responsibility including pro bono work and helping those most vulnerable in our society.

“Taking part in the Liverpool Legal Walk is a simple way for each one of us to make a real positive contribution. Please sign up a team today and walk for justice!”

Chris Walker, who leads Scott Rees’ Catastrophic Injuries department and is also Chairman of the Liverpool branch of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives, said: “I am delighted to be involved in organising the very first Liverpool Legal Walk and I hope that as many people as possible will get involved.

“It promises to be a great opportunity for lawyers across Liverpool and Merseyside to join forces and raise money for a very worthwhile cause.”
