WARRANT GROWTH LAUNCHES EXCITING NEW STRATEGY
LEADING independent supply chain management company Warrant Group has embarked on an exciting period of growth following a major 12-month programme of investment in its people and processes.
Ian Jones, Managing Director of Warrant Group, which has a £50m turnover and manages 80,000 teu annually, has significantly strengthened the company’s position as a trusted technology based supply chain provider with a portfolio of high profile clients.
The company has introduced a new website and mobile website as well as a comprehensive branding strategy that brings definition and identity to its people, products and services across traditional and digital platforms.
Warrant Group has also boosted its Commercial Team, opened a new Trade Sales department, and has welcomed Andy Simpson to the company as Supply Chain Director responsible for developing Warrant Group’s Asia to Europe multimodal product, leading strategic cross-sell channels and designing technology based solutions.
Enhancements to the company’s IT platform are also currently underway as part of a two-phased process that builds upon Warrant Group’s pioneering credentials as among the first independent supply chain management companies to create EDI links with carriers.
The Liverpool and Southampton based company employs about 54 staff and provides global multimodal services across several markets with a client portfolio that includes retailer, JML, and promotional clothing and workwear specialist, Co-operative Clothing; it is also widely known as the UK’s largest exporter of recyclable materials.
Warrant Group provides port agency expertise at UK ports in the North West on behalf of clients such as United Molasses, Rio Tinto and Befesa and for the raw materials importer provides specialised port based warehousing and distribution operations.
It is a founder member of EURTEAM, a European Chemical alliance created to provide supply chain solutions solely for the chemicals sector; led by Ian Jones as President, its client portfolio includes global companies such as BASF and INEOS.
Ian Jones was appointed MD of Warrant Group in June 2008 following a management buy-out. In June 2011, at the age of 42 he became a 100 per cent shareholder of the company and since then has appointed a new board of directors and strengthened key areas of the business. Ian first started working in the logistics sector as an YTS trainee more than 20 years ago.
