Software company Ideagen support fresh water campaign in Africa
Ideagen's water wells are providing clean and fresh drinking water to families in parts of Africa
A software company is doing its bit to improve the quality of life in Africa by supporting efforts to bring fresh water to parts of the continent.
Ideagen, a supplier of compliance-based information management software with operations in the UK, the United States and the Middle East, is helping to launch a series of ‘Elephant Pump’ water wells to service hundreds of families in need of fresh drinking water.
The company, with headquarters in Matlock, Derbyshire, but with offices across the United Kingdom, is working with the Africa Trust in Mozambique on a new design of Elephant Pump water wells, helping to fund the project through its use of AquAid water coolers throughout its premises in the United Kingdom.
Ideagen’s Group Communications Manager, Suzanne Barron, said: “Gaining access to fresh and clean drinking water is something that we take for granted here in the UK and so we are more than happy to support such a worthwhile project.
“By simply using AquAid’s water coolers, we are helping to improve the lives of so many who are less fortunate than ourselves in Mozambique.”
In 2013, Ideagen’s initial investment in water coolers from AquAid helped the Africa Trust install a series of pumps across the continent. The pumps helped to bring much needed, clean and fresh drinking water for locals and improved the quality of life of families with access to the pump.
This latest project in Mozambique will help hundreds of villagers in the country get access to clean drinking water through quicker to build and more cost-effective pumps. In Mozambique, communities are more dispersed with small clusters of families, so a smaller pump is more suitable.

AquAid have – to date – donated over £10 million to charity.
