Leading experts gather in Stockholm for 4th World Psoriasis & Psoriatic Arthritis Conference to discuss new insights and innovations within the fields of psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis.

(9 July, Stockholm, Sweden)
Today medical professionals and patient advocates from 70 countries are gathering in Stockholm for the 4th World Psoriasis & Psoriatic Arthritis Conference, arranged by the International Federation of Psoriasis Associations, IFPA. The theme for the conference, “Psoriasis – new insights and innovations” reflects the encouraging progress made in the understanding, and treatment, of a very complex disease.

Lars Ettarp, President of IFPA comments:
“This is a unique conference on a difficult and complex inflammatory disease, which is present practically all over the world and which may entail a great deal of suffering, not only physically but also by causing stigmatization and social exclusion. The situation is especially difficult in countries lacking in adequate care or efficient treatments. The conference is also unique in that it not only gathers delegates from 70 countries to discuss the disease and its consequences; but in that it is a close collaboration between IFPA, as representatives of the global psoriasis patient community, and the specialist physicians in charge of our care. Seeing the many advances that have been made in just the last few years, we have hope for a better future for the patients we represent.”

The objectives of the conferences’ multidisciplinary sessions are to provide the delegates with the latest research updates, treatment paradigms and case-based learning, which will hopefully equip them with the tools they need to give their patients the best care possible.

The conference will be in session from Thursday July 9 to Saturday July 11.
