Presentation to Focus on Main Drivers of Technology Purchases and Tips on Developing a Federal IT Sales Strategy

McLean, VA, January 17, 2013 - The American Small Business Coalition announced this week that immixGroup co-founder and Executive Vice President Steve Charles will speak at its upcoming Washington Breakfast Club™ (WBC) event. This season’s inaugural event will be held on February 14 at the Tysons Corner Marriott in Vienna, Virginia.

Mr. Charles will discuss the need for companies to stay in synch with the two main drivers of technology purchases: products that support mission delivery, and those that support the next generation of infrastructure from the data center out to users’ devices. Additionally, he will share his insight on the most important trends to consider when planning a federal IT sales strategy.

“Despite the uncertainty surrounding the federal budget, there are still opportunities for government contractors to grow their business in the coming years,” Charles says. “To succeed in this environment, government contractors need to adapt their sales strategies to the evolving needs of their government customers.”

As an industry thought leader, Mr. Charles spends much of his time educating technology vendors on the federal IT market to help them develop strategies to grow their business with the government. Mr. Charles regularly conducts industry-focused training classes to help technology companies navigate the acquisition and contracting process. He also has co-authored a book, The Inside Guide to the Federal IT Market, to inform industry on the inner workings of the federal IT contracting process.

Since 1985, the Washington Breakfast Club has presented government and industry decision makers, key influencers, and accomplished practitioners in some of the industry's most productive information exchanges. The program, based on the legacy of its founder Bob Salisbury, continues to provide attendees with an intimate setting for receiving reliable information delivered by thought leaders of the government contracting community.
