Wright Engineering, part of the Wright Group, has taken delivery of two new 3.5 tonne counterbalance trucks from the UK’s sole distributor of Cat® lift trucks, just seven days after placing the order.

The company specified the two new trucks to bolster its forklift truck fleet, providing extra capacity ahead of an expected peak period of operation. Fundamental to Wright Engineering’s decision to work with Impact Handling for the first time was the company’s stock of materials handling equipment and its ability to deliver the trucks within the short lead time.

Adding to six existing machines in service with Wright Engineering, one of the trucks has been delivered to the company’s head office in Worksop, Nottinghamshire, with the other truck earmarked for use at a new site in Harworth. Both trucks will be used up to six days a week transporting steelwork and pallets around the respective sites.

John Boggis, Transport and Maintenance Manager for the Wright Group, says: “Anticipating an increased workload over the coming months, it was essential that we could cope with the extra demand that this was going to put on our materials handling fleet.  When we put our requirements out to tender, Impact Handling told us that they could deliver the trucks within a week. We were really impressed with that.”

Also key to Wright Engineering’s decision to specify the machines was its previous positive experiences with Cat lift trucks.

“In the past we’ve had Cat lift trucks in our fleet and they’ve been really great machines. Not only are they reliable and manage well with the volume of work, but they’re particularly liked by our staff,” he adds.

Dual element cyclone air filters with high air intake, strong fan cooling and enhanced dust filters make the DP35N forklift truck one of the most dependable machines in the Cat lift trucks line-up. The industrial strength and easy to service diesel engines help fleets to minimise running costs with low fuel consumption.

Established in 1986, Wright Engineering specialises in engineering design, fabrication and installation solutions, as well as working on an international basis on complex design and engineering projects.
