IMPACT PREMIERES KONECRANES LIFT TRUCKS’ NEW OPTIMA CABIN AT MULTIMODAL
Stand 650, Multimodal, NEC, Birmingham, 10-12 May 2016
Impact – sole distribution partner in the UK and Ireland for Konecranes Lift Trucks – is marking its return to Multimodal for the second year running with the UK launch of Konecranes’ new Generation C Optima Cabin.
The new cabin will be exhibited on Impact’s stand, and is available across the entire Konecranes Generation C lift trucks range, including container lift trucks, reach-stackers and forklift trucks.
The Optima Cabin stands out for its driver-friendly design, which aims to maximise safety and efficiency. Larger, lowered windows and integrated seat-mounted controls give the new-generation cabin a more ergonomic layout, keeping sightlines to key working areas clear from all angles.
A 7-inch touch screen display within the cabin places the operator firmly in control, and offers in-depth monitoring of all key functions, including fuel management. Each driver receives their own individual log-in for the touch screen, while an integrated rear-view camera and tyre pressure monitoring system can be specified as added options.
Terry Kendrew, Impact’s Managing Director, says: “Exhibiting the new Optima Cabin on our stand allows customers to see for themselves that Konecranes Lift Trucks is at the forefront of technological advances in the heavy truck sector – and demonstrates why we’re proud of our sole distributor status. We’re confident heavy truck operators will appreciate the improved design and technological advancements built in to the new-generation cabin, which will unlock improvements in efficiency, productivity and safety.”
Truconnect®
Konecranes Lift Trucks’ upgraded Truconnect® fleet monitoring tool will also make its UK debut on the Impact stand, and will be demonstrated throughout the show.
The major system upgrade provides Konecranes’ customers with a wealth of fleet management data, helping companies optimise operational efficiency and productivity, and improve on-site safety.
A monitoring unit installed in the truck aggregates data in real-time on key aspects of truck usage, such as fuel consumption, driving hours and driver performance, overrides or overloads and the activation of shock sensors. The system also helps owners plan and forecast routine maintenance by keeping track of oil and AdBlue levels, brake condition and warning messages, which results in increased uptime and greater accountability.
Personalised notifications can be set up through the system, giving operators live messages in the form of a text and/or an email for a specified set of occurrences, helping to ensure prompt reactions and speed up key decisions. For larger fleets, the software can be used to track truck movements on a bespoke map of the customer’s facility, offering a chance for optimised asset scheduling.
Data collected through Truconnect is also available on Konecranes’ cloud-based customer portal, which can be accessed 24/7 from any web-enabled device. The information is organised into easy-to-read charts and tables, and can be shared or exported in the form of a PDF or Microsoft Excel charts. The simple formatting gives operators a clear view of their entire fleet at a glance, and allows them to spot anomalies, trends or patterns, and make informed decisions.
Truconnect can also be retrofitted to any Konecranes lift truck delivered after 2005, and is available in three service packages: Basic, Premium and Premium+.
