IMSYS JOINS THE EMBEDDED PROCESSOR BENCHMARKING CONSORTIUM (EEMBC) UPPLANDS VÄSBY, SWEDEN, May 2, 2000 - Imsys AB of Sweden today announced it has joined EEMBC (EDN Embedded Microprocessor Benchmarking Consortium), an impressive, 40-strong, group of semiconductor and compiler suppliers who are committed to helping customers get products to market easier and faster through fair benchmarking and establishment of industry standards. "By becoming a member of EEMBC, Imsys is looking forward to contributing its unique, reconfigurable Java processor technology, operating systems, development tools, and system expertise for embedded microcontroller applications," says Stefan Blixt, President and chief architect. Imsys is looking forward to participating in the appropriate benchmarks and benchmark processes which demonstrate the performance of Imsys microcontroller solution and tools for embedded design" adds Stefan Blixt. th "EEMBC is thrilled to welcome Imsys as its 40 member," said Markus Levy, president and CEO of EEMBC. "Not only do I expect great benchmarking results from their GP1000, but the company's technical expertise will be highly beneficial to EEMBC as we begin development of our Version 2.0 benchmarks. "Imsys is sure to make an interesting contribution to EEMBC with its unique rewritable-microcode GP1000 processor," says Tom R. Halfhill, Senior Editor, Microprocessor Report, Cahners MicroDesign Resources. "EEMBC's ability to accommodate unusual processor designs is another indication that these benchmarks are well thought-out. And as the first EEMBC member from Sweden, Imsys is demonstrating that the benchmarks are becoming a global standard." About EEMBC Providing the embedded fair and certified benchmarks for real-world applications, EEMBC now include 40 of the world's leading and most influential semiconductor and intellectual property companies. EEMBC members are committed to helping customers get the right product easier and faster through fair benchmarking and establishment of industry standards. Benchmarking fairness is provided through the EEMBC Certification Labs with offices in Texas and California. Benchmarking results are posted on the EEMBC website at www.eembc.org. - MORE - - IMSYS JOINS EEMBC About Imsys Imsys is a fabless semiconductor manufacturer of reconfigurable, high performance, low power, native Java processors targeted for JVM and KVM applications.
