INCA FASHIONS INTRODUCES ECO-FRIENDLY CLOTHING LINE
Certified Organic Alpaca Turns Heads!
Let’s face it… Green is IN! As we become an environmentally aware nation, responsible Americans are quite familiar with the importance of sustainable industries. One California-based designer, Kim DeVos, decided to take her eco-friendly business one step further.
The North American alpaca is already considered a “green” animal. Remarkably gentle on the land due to their soft padded feet and efficient yet gentle grazing techniques, alpacas’ most valuable end product is their fiber. Shorn without harm each year, they produce five to ten pounds of luxurious fiber per year. No chemicals are employed either during feeding or during the industrial production of alpaca fleece into fiber.
Inca Fashions has unveiled a line of fashions even more environmentally sound, made from Certified Organic Alpaca. Fed all organically grown food, these alpacas are shorn by hand with scissors so that no grease or foreign matter ever contaminates the fiber.
“This product line gives environmentally conscious people the opportunity to experience something that is far more sustainable than bamboo and other natural fibers while being durable, elegant and soft at the same time,” said Kim DeVos, owner of Inca Fashions.
Inca Fashions’ Certified Organic Alpaca line features beautiful sweaters, cardigans, caplets and tunics for both men and women.
About Alpaca Fiber
Alpaca fiber naturally comes in 22 different colors, though it can be dyed to any colors desired. Alpaca fiber is frequently compared to the softness of cashmere and is 1/3 the weight of wool. Hypo-allergenic, alpaca contains no lanolin. People who experience discomfort from wearing wool against their skin are able to comfortably wear alpaca because alpaca is a smooth fiber.
