Two new tenants for the Charlotte Square Collection

The Charlotte Square Collection, a managed estate of 21 townhouse properties in Edinburgh’s iconic Georgian square, has secured two new occupiers, as interest for its beautifully renovated properties and occupancy levels gather pace.

The Institute of Directors and Lomond Capital have agreed deals which will see both establish flagship offices within Charlotte Square.

The IoD has signed a lease on 2,951 sq.ft. of office accommodation at 10 Charlotte Square, to form a new hub for Scotland’s directors and a modern headquarters for the organisation. Lomond Capital, meanwhile, has pre-let the entire five floors (4,500 sq ft) of No 32 Charlotte Square, to accommodate its expanding property group. The townhouse will now be renovated ready for occupancy in September 2016.

Both organisations join a growing number of high quality businesses based in offices within the Collection. Old Mutual Global Investors, Cumulus Asset Management, Syz & Co and Handelsbanken all took possession of newly refurbished offices in 2015, alongside established neighbours including Cornelian Asset Managers, Hampden & Co and Murray Capital.

The refurbishment of No 32 for Lomond Capital will bring the number of properties redeveloped within the Collection to ten and reflects the principle of long-term custodianship that owners Fordell Estates have embedded into its approach to the management of the Collection.

Set to move into their new offices in the Spring, David Watt, Executive Director at IoD Scotland, said:

“This move represents the creation of a new focal point for IoD members in Scotland, with state-of-the-art facilities in a prestigious central location. We very much look forward to unveiling our plans, and welcoming members and visitors to our new ‘hub’, which sits right at the heart of the business and political community.”

Nick Ball of Corran Properties, which manages The Charlotte Square Collection, said:

“Welcoming both the IoD and Lomond Capital we are fulfilling our ambition to create a community of high-end businesses within Charlotte Square – and reinforcing the global recognition of this iconic Georgian address. As a managed estate of 21 properties, we offer occupiers an excellent level of service. We have a prestigious business address and a roll call of high quality businesses, alongside an approach to asset management that is based on the long term custodianship of an important Edinburgh asset.”
