OSLO, NORWAY – January 26, 2016 – Induct AS has signed an agreement with Sykehusapotekene HF, the enterprise that manages all hospital pharmacies for the Southern and Eastern Norway Regional Health Authority (“Helse Sør-Øst”).  The Authority operates nine hospital trusts and five private hospitals, and supplies healthcare for more than half of Norway’s population.

Helse Sør-Øst is the third (out of four total) and largest Regional Health Authority in Norway, where Induct is enabling hospitals and health organizations to better capture, process, and manage ideas, best practices, and improvements from employees, patients, relatives, and other stakeholders. The purpose is to become more cost efficient, drive higher levels of quality, and increase patient- and employee satisfaction. Sykehusapotekene HF will also be part of the large Induct network where health organizations share ideas and successful innovations across similar challenges.

“Connecting innovation communities in a network enables healthcare workers at every level to find and adopt solutions that other hospitals have successfully implemented to solve similar challenges,” said Alf Martin Johansen, CEO of Induct.  “This dramatically reduces duplicated effort, lowers cost, and supports the rapid diffusion of best practices across the entire healthcare network. We are proud to offer our innovation network solution to Sykehusapotekene HF.”

Norway’s two largest hospitals, Akershus University Hospital and Oslo University Hospital, both part of Helse Sør-Øst, have been users of the Induct platform since 2015 and 2011 respectively. In addition, Norway’s Western Region (“Helse Vest”) implemented Induct during the autumn of 2015, and the Central Region (“Helse Midt”) recently signed up as a group of five hospitals. These healthcare contracts are due in part to Induct having won the national framework agreement in Norway for innovation management software within healthcare in 2015.

Induct has an international presence and has global ambitions. In October, Induct signed agreements with eight hospitals in Spain’s Catalonia region, and with BJC HealthCare, one of the largest non-profit healthcare integrated delivery organizations in the United States. Induct is working with the UK National Healthcare Service (NHS) where an Induct innovation community has been implemented at the Surrey and Sussex Healthcare Trust.
