(United Kingdom – 16th May 2011)The national student news service Young Academic, has introduced an interactive comment system to its website to allow students to interact and debate over issues.

The chic website, which has only been online for just over six months but has already cemented itself as a firm favourite among students in the UK due to the range of student news topics and features,  allows youngsters to submit their own stories for publication.

The new ‘Disqus’ application lets readers leave their views at the bottom of any article on the Young Academic website for reply by other students. The feature has already sparked informed debate from within the UK student news community about such topics as the student riots and the alternative vote.

Young Academic Editor Charles Whitworth, who made his name at such publications as Sky Sports and Student Times, had the following to say of the future for his publication; “2011 represents a huge year for Young Academic as the site looks to build on the success that it has already enjoyed by further establishing the chic website as the only place to go for student news.”

“With the new Disqus application and a range of new features planned over the coming months, it is my aim to make sure Young Academic is the only place young academics go for their student news pieces, career guides and hot topics,” he continued.
