INDIAN LAND, SCHalogen TV, the socially-conscious entertainment network, has entered into a partnership with the original action sports footwear and apparel company Vans® to air “Pass the Bucket,” an Offthewall.tv production of memorable and poignant stories that feature athletes and musicians who have gone through life altering events, and are using those experiences to help others.  “Pass the Bucket” will air as part of Halogen TV’s new Thursday night lineup.  The announcement was made today by Becky Henderson, GM and Founder of Halogen TV.

“I am excited about this new partnership,” noted Henderson. “Vans® has a celebrated and legendary history of championing artistic freedom of expression, and ‘Pass the Bucket’ is the latest addition to their awesome portfolio.  These are raw and authentic accounts of amazing people who are selflessly giving back to their communities in meaningful ways.  This series is a great complement to the Halogen ethos, and I am honored to feature these programs in our new Thursday night lineup.”

“We’re very fortunate to find a partner in Halogen TV and their socially-conscious programming that aligns so well with our Offthewall.tv ‘Pass the Bucket’ series,” said Sarah Crockett, Director of Consumer Marketing at Vans.  “Director Eliot Rausch’s unique story-telling and the personalities highlighted by this inspirational series should really resonate with Halogen TV viewers.”

June 22, 2007 marked a day that the Action Sports world will remember for a lifetime. It is a day that has forever changed the life of professional BMX rider and three-time U.S. Gold Medalist, Stephen Murray. In the midst of doing a double back flip, Stephen crashed while competing in the BMX Dirt Finals at the Dew Actions Sports Tour, in Baltimore, Maryland. It was quoted as being “one of the worst crashes seen in BMX” and one that would ultimately be career ending for this incredibly talented, 27 year old.  Fully paralyzed, Stephen now lives a different reality, but sees it as a platform to help others. Through his "Stay Strong" foundation and mission-focused determination, Stephen surprisingly finds a powerful way to pass the bucket. Pass the Bucket: Stephen Murray is produced by Vans® and directed by Eliot Rausch.

Amy Purdy is a snowboarder, skateboarder, makeup artist, actress, model, and is also a double leg amputee.  At the age of 19, she contracted Neisseria meningitis, a form of bacterial meningitis. Due to the disease, which affected her circulatory system, both of her legs had to be amputated below the knee.  Her spleen and a kidney had to be removed as well. Two years later, she received a kidney transplant from her father. Her friends now refer to her by the nickname Lucky. Amy's most significant accomplishment to date is in the creation and development of the action sport athletic organization; Adaptive Action Sports. In 2005 Amy and her partner Daniel Gale founded the non-profit organization to help adaptive athletes get involved with action sports, art and music. As of 2011, Amy is currently ranked #1 in the world for Adaptive Snowboarding and recently got adaptive sports into the 2011 X-Games. Amy's future goal is to get adaptive sports into the 2014 Olympics.  Pass the Bucket: Amy Purdy is produced by Vans® and directed by Eliot Rausch.

Fletcher Dragge originally started Pennywise from a garage in Redondo Beach, CA with the help of his good friend Ken Seaton. They are using their knowledge in the music business to help guide the next generation of punk rockers.  Recently they have joined efforts to give smaller bands such as Allura and Phathom a chance at making it. With a changing model for recording music and being heard, this collaborative effort hopes to give these bands an opportunity to fulfill their dreams so that they, in turn, can pass the bucket.  Pass the Bucket: Fletcher Dragge is produced by Vans® and directed by Eliot Rausch.

Considered to be one of the most influential skateboarders of all time, Tony Alva, an original Z-Boy, hit a bottom 4 years ago when he battled alcoholism and drug addiction.  There, at his lowest point, his reliance on successes and his ego came into perspective for the first time.  Tony's fight for sobriety and truth has recently led him to a new perspective on life and direction moving forward. Now, dedicated to giving back, Tony sees that passing the bucket is the only way out.  Pass the Bucket: Tony Alva is produced by Vans® and directed by Eliot Rausch.
