Insplorion sells an Acoulyte instrument to Professor Sibani Lisa Biswal at Rice University, Houston, USA
Professor Biswal’s research at Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at Rice University, focuses on using chemical, biological, and engineering approaches to study soft materials such as colloids, polymers, lipids, and surfactants. Professor Biswal and her team will use the Acoulyte mainly within their research on lipids, proteins and nanoparticle interactions.
The Biswal group has extensive experience in using the acoustic QCM-D technology, which the Acoulyte combines to, within, among others, research covering lipid-surface interactions. A demo was set up earlier this year after the interest was sparked when the group was introduced to the work of Professor Pedersen at University of Wisconsin-Madison, a reference customer of Insplorion. The Acoulyte will be shared within several groups at their department. The list price of the Acoulyte is about 0,5 MSEK to which an academic discount is applied.
"We are happy to have Professor Biswal as a new user of our NPS technology and are certain that her work will continue to show the benefits of combining acoustic and optical real time measurements for soft matter applications", comments Patrik Dahlqvist, CEO at Insplorion.
