Hollywood Production Center Client ‘Push It Productions’ Continues Work in the Comedy Realm, While ‘After Dark Films’ Excels in Horror.
Current Hollywood Production Center client, Push It Productions, begins work on the eighth season of comedy competition series ‘Last Comic Standing,’ while new tenant, After Dark Films, begins production on a new zombie flick, ‘Re-Kill’.
Press Release – Los Angeles, CA – November 18, 2013 – Push It Productions is slated to begin work on the eighth season of Last Comic Standing after inking a deal with the alternative studio of Universal Television this past April. The next installment of the fun, unscripted comedy competition series is due to air in the summer of 2014, after being put on hold since its last run in 2010.
Last Comic Standing utilizes executive producers Page Hurwitz and Wanda Sykes. Hurwitz, executive producer of the show from 2006 to 2010, will be joined by newcomer Sykes who will help make up the team as the crew utilizes the Hollywood virtual offices. Wanda Sykes has received three Emmy Awards for her stand-up comedy work both on stage and on television. Her resume includes Fox’s The Wanda Sykes Show, HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm, and Comedy Central’s Wanda Does It.
After Dark Films is also in the process of creating an upcoming zombie film entitled Re-Kill. The production company focuses mainly on producing original, action and horror films and has chosen the prestigious fully serviced offices of Hollywood Production Center as its base. Courtney Solomon, the founder of After Dark Films, worked on the 2013 film Getaway which starred Ethan Hawke, Selena Gomez and Jon Voight. Re-Kill is a collaborated effort between After Dark Films and director Valeri Milev. Although post-production of the movie was placed on hold so its creative teams could work on other projects, a theatrical release is expected in early 2014.
