23.10.2020, Ludwigsburg, Germany. Yesterday, on the World Energy Day, instagrid won the Start Up Energy Transition Award 2020 in the Renewable Energies and Materials category. The start-up from Germany prevailed among 570 applications from all over the world. The judges particularly praised the product as a very progressive and environmentally friendly innovation and furthermore honored the visionary business of the young company.

About SET: Start Up Energy Transition (SET) is a global innovation platform supporting innovation in energy transition. SET is implemented with the conviction that a sustainable future is directly linked to innovative business models and political will. The SET Award is presented in five different categories, which cover the entire clean energy spectrum.

During the SET week online, instagrid GmbH was presented with the Award in Renewable Energies and Materials -category. With its portable power solution, which provides simple, flexible and emission-free access to mobile electricity for professionals such as craftsmen, the start-up impressed the jury, which is selected from the global networks of energy leaders of the World Energy Council.

"We are very excited about the award, especially since the jury represents some of the best international expertise in the energy business. This gives us confidence that our solution is indeed highly relevant for the energy transition and that our vision of providing access to emission-free energy anywhere in the world is very well received," says Dr. Sebastian Berning, co-founder and CEO of instagrid.

The SET challenged the start-ups to showcase solutions for harnessing the use of renewables and steering away from carbon reliant energy. Instagrid presented a highly innovative solution that has the potential to empower and enable citizens globally to utilise renewable energy for their professional needs, even in the most remote off-grid locations.

Dr. Andreas Sedlmayr, likewise co-founder and CEO of instagrid, is equally proud of the award: "It's a great feeling to have successfully proved ourselves against strong competitors from around the world. It's fantastic to receive awards such as the Start Up Energy Transition award or the InnoEnergy Award last year, confirming once again that we are on the right track with our product, which is not only in line with the pulse of time, but also addressing the everyday needs of many people across diverse industries and geographies very well.”
