Instalco wins assignment for installations at new Stockholm landmark
The Instalco companies, Klimatrör, VVS-Kraft and Instair have been contracted for a joint assignment associated with the construction of one of Stockholm’s new landmarks, Forskaren. They will be responsible for installation of the heating & plumbing and ventilation systems, with an order value of approximately SEK 85 million.
Forskaren is an office building that will be built next to Karolinska University Hospital where employees will be working with science, technology and biomedicine. The design of the building, with a total area of 24,000 sq. m., resembles a bird’s nest and it will house some 1,700 employees.
Klimatrör and VVS-Kraft will install the cooling, heating, water, sewage and recycling systems. Instair is responsible for installation of the air filtration system.
“The design of the building is unique, requiring special solutions for the heating & plumbing and ventilation work. The technical requirements on us are thus high for this assignment. It is a complex building with an exciting, round design. Given its location, there are also significant logistics challenges having to do with the flow of traffic in that area,” says Tobias Eriksson, Business Area Manager for Instalco Stockholm.
The client for this Instalco project is Zengun and the contractor is Vectura.
“The collaboration between these three Instalco companies, the client and end-customer demonstrates the strength of the Instalco model. Our project organization has extensive experience from similar projects involving these types of installations and logistics challenges. We have a long history of successful collaboration with Zengun and Vectura and are proud to be working with them again on this project,” says Tobias Eriksson.
The project will be carried out between February 2022 and December 2023. It will be certified as a Sustainable Instalco Project. It will also have LEED Platinum and WELL certification.
