WTR Industry Awards 2016
World Trademark Review, the world's only independent daily news and information service dedicated exclusively to reporting on trademark issues for in-house and private practitioners internationally, last night announced the winners of its 2016 Industry Awards for in-house counsel at an exclusive reception at the Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek. The event, timed to coincide with the International Trademark Association’s annual meeting, was attended by 260 senior in-house counsel from nominated companies and representatives from a number of prominent law firms.
To arrive at the shortlist, World Trademark Review conducted in-depth research of in-house counsel worldwide by surveying the global trademark community. Almost 1,500 nominations make the awards unique in clearly identifying those counsel – both teams and individuals – that have excelled in their sector or region. The nomination process was followed by a two-month research process conducted by the World Trademark Review editorial team.
Trevor Little, editor of World Trademark Review, said: “Trademarks, and the brands that they underpin, are key assets for companies, making those tasked with creating, securing, protecting and maximising the value of these rights essential to business success. Yet too often trademark counsel are unsung corporate heroes. It is vitally important that the work they undertake is recognised, both internally and within the wider industry. I would therefore like to thank our sponsors for their support in ensuring that all of this year’s shortlisted companies get the plaudits they deserve for their exceptional achievements.”
