Intentia and Sapa sign general agreement Stockholm, Sweden - Intentia International AB (publ.) (XSSE: INT B) and the engineering group, Sapa AB, today signed a general agreement for a partnership involving Sapa's business-critical processes. Sapa AB is an international engineering group that focuses on highly processed products based on lightweight aluminium and plastics. The group comprises 10,000 employees within three business areas and its annual turnover amounts to just over SEK 15 billion. Sapa already uses Movex at four plants in Sweden and one in France. "Sapa is very satisfied with both the functionality of Movex and Intentia's skills and have therefore decided to develop the relationship further", says Kurt Westerlund at Sapa. Intentia and Sapa jumped the gun somewhat at the end of last year when they took their co-operation a step further by signing a licence agreement for Movex to be implemented in Sapa's UK plants. First in line under the new general agreement for the implementation of Movex are plants in Germany, Portugal, Poland and remaining plants in France. "We are currently analysing the need for a more stable business system at the plants and will, together with Sapa, work out a schedule for the conversion to Movex in accordance with the general agreement", says Peter Hargne, Major Account Manager at Intentia Consulting Sweden. Thanks to Intentia's well-documented experience and its Movex product, Intentia will become an active co-operation partner in Sapa's IT strategy and will be able to develop solutions that will be both more efficient and cost-effective than those of individual suppliers. Initially, the implementation of Movex at Sapa's various plants in Europe will enable more efficient co-ordination of Sapa's supply chains. Sapa chose Intentia as its partner since Intentia has shown how it is possible to co-ordinate all operations within a company and render them more efficient. Movex will play a central role in Sapa's expansive IT strategy. "Intentia's e-collaboration solutions are interesting", says Kurt Westerlund at Sapa, and continues: "The combination of both technical skills and an understanding of our operations makes Intentia a major resource in its capacity as a partner in our IT strategy."
