Intentia Signs Its Biggest Contract Ever in Japan with SMC Stockholm, Sweden -Intentia International AB (publ) (XSSE: INT B) today announces that Intentia Japan has signed the largest contract in its history with Japan-based SMC Corporation, the leading Japanese manufacturer of automatic control equipment. The contract is initially worth EUR 2.53 million in license revenue. The objective is for SMC and Intentia together to create a highly successful business transformation project of global manufacturing and distribution services. This will enable SMC, whose annual sales are USD 1.552 million, to further enhance its leading market position and to cut costs. The contract covers installation of Intentia's world-leading e-collaboration application, Movex, within SMC's worldwide network. The initial agreement will involve SMC's operations in Japan, Italy, the UK, Germany and Spain. The project will start with the redesign of SMC's core business processes. This will be followed by configuring Movex according to the designed best-practice processes. To confirm process design and application configuration, a series of pilot projects will be run in the designated countries. "The contract is without a doubt the most important and largest deal to date for Intentia Japan. We see it as a milestone in our history," says Mr. Ichiro Shibata, President, Intentia Japan. "It also shows the potential for Movex with Japanese multinationals that want a modern and cost-efficient solution with one organization responsible for the global roll out. Our global reach is really paying off in cases like this." It is SMC's intention to use Movex as a corporate standard and continuously expand the number of Movex users within the Group. The objective is to move SMC from a decentralized business model to a highly integrated, centralized and effective business process environment. SMC has over 9,130 employees worldwide. Its main businesses are manufacturing and sales of automatic control equipment, sintered filters and various types of filtration elements. The main reason SMC chose Intentia over strong competition from other companies such as SAP, is Intentia's excellent fit with existing and future business requirements. In addition, Intentia's global presence and technological leadership were main arguments in favor of Intentia.
