Intentia signs Muraspec, the UK's leading contract wall coverings company Muraspec, the UK's leading contract wall coverings company, is investing USD 1.4 million in a new enterprise application system. The new system, Movex from Intentia, will be installed in two phases across five UK sites and three in Europe. It will support 200 users and cover financials, manufacturing and distribution. "We are the designated 'platform' for growth outside the US and we need the right systems to support these ambitions," says Duncan Purves, finance director. He added that growth will be both organic and through acquisition. "It will be particularly important that new businesses we add can be integrated quickly and effectively from day one." Purves went on to say: "Our aim is to establish a single IT infrastructure that gives us access to consistent information across the whole business. This will enable us to improve the effectiveness of our responses to customers, and the quality of the information available to make strategic decisions." Muraspec which has a turnover of USD 65 million and employs 430 people is part of Gencorp Inc of Fairlawn, Ohio. Gencorp has a turnover of USD 1.8 billion, employs 10,000 and is acknowledged as the world's leading manufacturer of wall coverings with a 40 per cent share of the market. It is organised into four business units - performance chemicals, vehicle sealing, Aerojet and decorative and building products. These cover a diversity of products from weather satellites and space exploration vehicles, performance chemicals for paper, textiles and industrial coatings to sealants for cars and lorries.
