Preconfigured industry applications helps Intentia cut implementation times by half As a further development of the Movex Industry Application Concept, Intentia is now launching industry-enhanced implementations for selected Movex Industry Applications. The first industry application that will benefit from the improved implementation is Movex Automotive, especially designed for the suppliers within the Automotive Industry. The product, Configured Industry Application, will provide Intentia's customers within the automotive industry with tremendous performance gains for even the most demanding implementation projects. Installations, already completed, show that with the new methodology Intentia is capable of cutting implementation times down to 50%. "I firmly believe that the average implementation time for Movex Automotive will be about 4 to 6 months compared with today's average of between 8 to 12 months, says Jörgen Ljunggren, Industry Manager for Movex Automotive at Intentia Research & Development. "We are implementing Movex Automotive at two sites for Autoliv in the Netherlands, these two projects will be completed in 4 months, without us putting any extra resources into it." "The most important news is that we now can offer our customers not only preconfigured functionality, but also preconfigured business processes. Meaning that we have set up all business flows in Movex Automotive EDI, delivery schedules, JIT, Kanban and all other concepts that are important in the automotive business - are implemented, based on best practice experiences. Naturally this means that both the customers and we have to put a lot less time and effort into each implementation project", continues Ljunggren. Besides shorter implementation time and business processes based on 'best practice', the projects are also more predictable regarding resources and costs. "To put it all into a single sentence, this new concept gives our customers speed and safety without compromise. We can now easier than before handle fixed price installations. The precision is substantially higher when estimating time consumption for an implementation. The reason is mainly that we have managed to decrease the number of uncertainty factors that exists in all implementation projects." Configured Industry Application for Automotive is available now.
