Syltone Invests GBP 1.6 million to Create Collaborative Global Organization Stockholm, Sweden and London, England-Intentia International AB (publ) (XSSE: INT B) today announced that Syltone, the transport engineering group, is investing more than GBP 1.6 million in an e-collaboration solution from Intentia. The objective is to create a solution that supports a worldwide rationalization of its business into a global company with two divisions - Road Transport and Fluid Transfer. The Group, which operates in three regions - Americas, Europe and Pacific Rim - has appointed Intentia, the e-collaboration solutions company, as its long-term strategic partner. Intentia will implement its software, including Business Performance Warehouse intelligence tools and supply chain management, to create a collaborative trading environment for 25 Syltone companies operating in 18 countries. Intentia will also implement its role-based corporate portal that presents individuals with information specific to their job function, in a Web format from any accessible data source. The company says that this is a key element in creating a collaborative trading environment where individual employees effectively have their own personalized Web sites from which to manage their part of the seamless transaction flows between organizations. "We operate in a market where many of our customers are operating globally," says Brian Arnitage, Group ERP Manager at Syltone. "To stay competitive we need to change the way we operate and create an integrated and unified organization where every individual has access to the same information." He adds, "It will enable us to globalize customer information, create a consolidated view of sales, business intelligence and financial reporting, and integrate supply chain planning at both a tactical and strategic level.
