In short, Phalaenopsis prefers bright but indirect light, so an east facing window sill is ideal. Water just enough to keep the soil moist, and check periodically to make sure it’s not sitting in water. Then use a specialist orchid feed two to three times a month in the summer and once or twice a month in winter.
Given just a little regular attention, this phalaenopsis orchid should flower for up to three months. Once the flowers have faded, cut the dying stem off about 3cm (2”) from the base of the plant. The stem will then die back naturally, encouraging the plant to produce a new flowering stem.
