London, UK, 14 March 2012 – Internet Retailing Events today announced the final schedule of hands on workshops running at Internet Retailing Expo (IRX) 2012, 21-22 March, NEC, Birmingham. The four workshops on Day 1 will be hosted by Shutl, 10CMS, Oracle and SLI Systems and on Day 2 by ClicTale, Propellernet, Colbenson and SocialRetail. All eight will address individually distinctive, pertinent themes in the ecommece and multichannel retail market, and will equip attendees with tangible skills so they can put their ideas into practice immediately. Day 1 Workshops

“Putting the rocket into your business”, March 21st – 10:30-11:20 & 11:40-12:30 - Room A

Tom Allason Founder & CEO, Shutl, will facilitate a dedicated workshop for marketing, ecommerce and multichannel executives exploring the true value of offering 90-minute delivery and convenient 1-hour windows of the shopper’s choice.  The group will look at implementation best practices, as well as how to optimise such a service. 

“Winning the battle for consumer attention”, March 21st - 10.30am - Room B

In three short sessions, James Brooke, CEO and Co-founder, Rory Dennis, Client Services Director, and Troy Pratley, Sales Engineer, 10CMS, will be debating the challenges retailers face in rapidly transforming digital content into high performing brand experiences; offering insight into how the current content production process is broken and discussing how consumer interaction has changed, to a hands-on demonstration of how to deliver an immediate and different brand experience and how to avoid the pitfalls and address the challenges to create an interactive and inspiring buying

experience.

“Connected Interactions: Delivering Great Experiences across the Customer Journey”, March 21st - 1.30pm - Room A

In this session Susan Meriwether, Global Retail Marketing Director at RightNow, will help attendees learn how to map a customer journey, analyse the interactions and design the experiences that result in increased revenue and controlling costs. The session will also look at how to measure key interactions and how to tune them.

“Site Search and the User Experience “, March 21st - 1.30pm - Room B

David Kohn, Head of Multichannel at Snow + Rock, Chris Edge, Customer Success Manager at SLI Systems and Steve Groenier, a seasoned ecommerce executive, will present three 30 minute presentations in which attendees will discuss the importance of site search for ecommerce, best practices for the search results page, merchandising techniques, how to leverage site search to improve mobile and social commerce and what testing and analytics reveal about customers and the way they interact with sites.

Day 2 Workshops

“Beyond Web Analytics: How Behavioural Analytics are Changing the Game,” March 22nd - 10.30am - Room A

Marc Kenigsberg, VP Marketing at ClickTale, will run a workshop for Online Marketing Managers and website owners, focusing heavily on practical applications of customer experience analytics. Mark will discuss the value of behavioural analytics, how to use this data to effectively analyse and optimise different marketing channels, and integration with current data ecosystems. He will also focus on real life experience and customer case studies.

“Putting retail into search and social - from how people search to how customer shop”, March 22nd - 10.30am - Room B

Stefan Hull, Insight Director, Propellernet, will help attendees learn how top retailers do - and don't - achieve search success; why Google dominates and how it sees the world; why search is, now more than ever, about customers and not robots; what authenticity is and why is it important to your brand and bottom line; how to prioritise search investment and forecast returns in a format FDs like; where search and social media meet; and further search opportunities both in the UK and further afield.

“The Empathy Project: using social media to predict the future,” March 22nd - 1.30pm - Room A

Ángel Maldonado, Founder and head of Colbenson, and John Tomlinson, Head of communications at Colbenson, will provide insight into The Empathy Project, an innovative research project which investigates ways to mine the incredibly rich source of data in Twitter to improve customer insight. The workshop will address the unique opportunity that Twitter offers to business; how Twitter can help build knowledge and understanding of customers; how Twitter can help anticipate future demand; how businesses can take advantage of this opportunity to add value; and how they can use this to build empathy into online service delivery.

“Integrated Social Media Strategies for Retailers”, March 22nd - 1.30pm - Room B

Pete Doyle, Founder & Director of SocialRetail.co.uk, will discuss what an integrated marketing strategy looks like, how much marketing budget should be allocated to social media in 2012 and how to monitor conversation topics. Attendees will also learn about planning tools to help integrate social media activity with traditional marketing channels and stores, and to help align staff to a common marketing conversation plan. Case studies will be referenced showing how to plan and build social content to grow multichannel sales.
