Great Mississippi River Cleanup
In June, the first Great Mississippi Cleanup began removing debris, such as tires, appliances, plastic bottles and even a message in a bottle or two, from the shorelines of the upper Mississippi River. Thousands of people are involved in this cleanup, but many more are needed for other river cleanup projects throughout the nation.
