Intetech wins Queen’s Award for Enterprise
World-leading solution for tracking the integrity of oil, gas and other types of wells receives prestigious award for continuous innovation and development
Intetech, the world leader in well integrity management solutions is delighted to announce that it has received the Queen’s Award for Enterprise for continuous innovation and development. The specialist engineering consultancy received the Innovation Award for the design and development of its pioneering Well Integrity Toolkit (iWIT) software solution, which provides an integrated source of all the critical data needed to evaluate the condition of wells.
The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise are announced annually on 21 April to coincide with HM The Queen’s birthday and recognise outstanding achievement in International Trade, Innovation and Sustainable Development. Having identified a gap in the market, Intetech designed and developed iWIT entirely in-house to create the world’s first well integrity management solution. It has been in operation since 2006 and today serves 15 operations worldwide and is managing more than 8,000 wells.
“We are extremely proud to receive the Queen’s Award as it is only given for the highest levels of excellence and recognises the fact we’ve maintained our position as the global leader in the area of corrosion modelling and well integrity management,” states Dr Liane Smith (FREng), Director and founder of Intetech. “In developing iWIT, we effectively created a new market and have been hugely successful in selling to a wide range of operators from across the oil and gas industry. Naturally, the market we’ve opened up has attracted competitors, but we’ve kept one step ahead by maintaining an intensive in-house research and development programme to ensure iWIT continues to meet the ever-widening range of issues that operators turn to us to cover.”
iWIT proactively identifies potential well problems. This ensures Operators keep their wells operating safely and can raise productivity, reduce risk and adverse environmental impact. The ultimate aim is to prevent the kind of catastrophe that all operators fear, of having a well blow-out with risk to life and the environment. Intetech also designed and developed the Electronic Corrosion Engineer (ECE), a software solution that analyses how corrosive oil and gas production fluids are to hydrocarbon processing and pipeline transport systems. Launched in 2000, ECE has sold internationally to most of the major engineering consultancy firms and international oil operators (more than 100 clients in total).
“We have a unique track record of turning our deep knowledge and industry expertise into practical solutions that improve safety and protect profitability,” continues Smith. “The fact our ECE software solution is quoted in international company literature and project specifications confirms our standing within the oil and gas industry. It is also testament to the commitment of our management and staff to delivering highly innovative and flexible solutions that maintain our market-leading position, a fact acknowledged with Intetech winning a coveted Queen’s Awards for Enterprise.”
About Intetech
Intetech is a leading asset-integrity company and a pioneer in corrosion modelling and well integrity management services and solutions. Our Well Integrity Toolkit (iWIT) provides an integrated source of all the critical data needed to evaluate the condition of wells and keep them operating safely and profitably. iWIT allows users to track data in real time and make it visible immediately throughout the enterprise, helping companies prevent problems going undetected and fulfil local regulatory requirements. Meanwhile, our Electronic Corrosion Engineer (ECE) software analyses how corrosive oil and gas production fluids are to hydrocarbon processing plants and pipeline transport systems to provide an estimate of the expected corrosion rate. As well as serving companies in the oil and gas industry, we also apply our expertise in other sectors, including power generation, carbon capture and storage, nuclear, civil engineering and process industries. http://www.intetech.co.uk/
