Investor AB invests in White Rock Networks Investor AB, via its wholly owned subsidiary Investor Growth Capital, has participated in the third round of venture funding for White Rock Networks in the United States. The total financing is USD 60 million and included pro-rata funding from previous investors Oak Investment Partners, Mayfield Fund, Meritech Capital and Hook Partners, as well as new financing primarily from Investor Growth Capital and Fremont Communications. White Rock Networks provides telecom and datacom carriers with a family of next-generation optical transport systems. One of the company's flagship products is its VLX2010tm SONET add-drop multiplexer, which enables the cost-effective delivery of high-speed services in metropolitan areas. White Rock Networks will use its new funding to introduce its product strategy to the marketplace, of which the first phase will be to dramatically improve the cost, size and power of SONET platforms for fiber-based carrier customers.
