Investor merges Novare

INVESTOR AB MERGES NOVARE KAPITAL WITH INVESTOR GROWTH CAPITAL Investor AB has decided to merge its wholly owned investment operations, Investor Capital Growth and Novare Kapital AB. As previously, the operations will continue to focus on listed and unlisted "venture" and "growth" capital investments in the areas of IT and Healthcare. The new organization will have offices in New York, Stockholm, Silicon Valley and Amsterdam and will initially consist of about 35 employees. The merging of the operations also means that Investor Growth Capital, through the use of synergies in business flow and competencies, will further increase the focus on finding interesting IT and healthcare investments in the "new economy." The merging also means that Investor Growth Capital becomes a natural partner for growth companies during the various phases of their development. In all, the company will consist of about 50 holdings and the total capital invested amounts to about 6 billion kronor. The total available capital base amounts to about 15 billion kronor. Börje Ekholm, Managing Director in Investor AB, with overall responsibility for the New Investments area, is also responsible for Investor Growth Capital, as well as responsible for the American operations. Klas Hillström, Managing Director of Investor Growth Capital, will be responsible for operations in Europe. Håkan Jansson, Managing Director, and Staffan Josephsson, also Managing Director, will manage Investor Growth Capital's European investments in the initial stages, so- called early stage venture capital. Håkan Jansson will be responsible for IT investments and Staffan Johansson for the healthcare area. Both of them will be reporting to Klas Hillström in their respective capacities. Pontus Ekman, President of Novare Kapital, will transfer to Investor AB and will be responsible for business development of the new holdings.
